Known as “the faith that does justice,” the Society of Jesus believes that faith and pursuit of justice are intricately intertwined. General Congregation 32 emphasized

The mission of the Society of Jesus today is the service of faith, of which the promotion of justice is an absolute requirement. This is so because the reconciliation of men and women among themselves, which their reconciliation with God demands, must be based on justice.

This section of the website aims to help members of the Ignatian family gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between faith and justice from an Ignatian perspective.

“On the Relationship Between Faith and Justice” provides excerpts on the topic from key social justice documents of the Society of Jesus.

Spirituality and Social Justice: Recommended Reading offers suggested titles for furthering one’s exploration of the relationship between faith and justice.  Some materials were chosen particularly for self-care of those in ministry.  Your suggestions to update the database are welcome.
