JHMC National Meeting
Montserrat Retreat House
Lake Dallas, TX
11-14 June 2007
The focus of this year's gathering is to review and to plan in our four priority areas of action in U.S. Hispanic ministry: Formation, Ignatian Spirituality, Networking, and Prophetic Action. These were chosen at our 2005 gathering in Omaha.
To that end, most of our time will be spent in sessions asking the questions:
-What have we been doing in these areas locally and nationally?
-What are we currently doing?
-What more do we need to do, and how can we do it better?
Our 2006 25th anniversary gathering at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana gave us time to remember and to look ahead, as we remembered 25 years of commitment as well as reflected on the outpouring of activism regarding immigration reform last spring, the recently completed first ever National Youth Encuentro and the ongoing process of Jesuit national strategic planning.
This year we invite Jesuits and lay colleagues involved in ministry in the Hispanic community to join us in Lake Dallas June 11-14 as we reflect on our experiences and plan our next steps forward in walking with the Hispanic community.
