Conflict and Peace
Conflict and
Peace
The US Jesuit Conference is partnering with Jesuits in the
Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and with Jesuits in Europe on a
joint peace advocacy project. As the DRC emerges from a long period of
violent conflict, we are encouraging responsible US policies toward
rebuilding the country.
Through the National Jesuit Committee on Investor
Responsibility (NJCIR), the Jesuits of the United States are advocating
for human rights policies with US based companies in the extractive
industry (oil and minerals) in Africa.
The US Jesuit Conference is an active member of the Africa
Faith and Justice Network and holds a seat on their board of directors.
