Jesuit Retreat House

Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Located 80 miles north of Milwaukee, the Jesuit Retreat House on Lake Winnebago welcomes men and women of all faiths to its silent conference retreats. The blue waters of Lake Winnebago wrap around the 20-acre campus like open arms. Vibrant spring and summer greens, gorgeous fall colors and tranquil winter snow provide a serene environment for reflection no matter the season.

Meandering walkways, swings, benches, bridges and a gazebo contribute to a backdrop ideal for contemplation. Bikes and lawn chairs are available seasonally, and retreatants may bring cross-country skis or sleds to enjoy the grounds during the winter. An exercise room is available, and it is safe to walk or jog outside on the grounds and surrounding areas.

Meals are served buffet style, and the menu accommodates nearly all retreatants. Snacks and drinks are always available, as well as a refrigerator for retreatant use. Mass is held in the Shrine of the Sacred Heart, overlooking the lake. All rooms are private, and several first floor rooms have private bathrooms for those with special needs.

The Jesuit Retreat House is open year-round, offering weekend retreats in September until the end of May when eight-day directed retreats begin. AA and Al-Anon retreats are offered in May, August, October, November and December. Couples’ retreats are available around Valentine’s Day weekend and in July.
