Chevron shareholders to vote May 28th on Jesuit-led resolution on human rights

Led by the Jesuits, numerous faith based and social investors have filed a shareholder resolution with Chevron calling for the company to adopt and implement a comprehensive, transparent and verifiable human rights policy that would govern the company’s exploratory, extractive, refining and distribution operations in the 180 countries in which it operates. The resolution will be voted on by shareholders at Chevron’s annual general meeting on May 28, 2008. If you own stock in Chevron, we invite you to vote FOR this resolution (item #5 on the proxy statement), and we invite all to join in solidarity with this effort through the prayer.
