O’Neill, John D.

Jesuit Father John D. O’Neill died on Oct. 28, 2012, at Colombiere Center in Clarkston, Mich. Fr. O’Neill was born on July 9, 1929, in Detroit. He entered the Society of Jesus on July 24, 1947, at Milford, Ohio. He was ordained a priest on June 12, 1960, at West Baden College, West Baden Springs, Ind. He took final vows on August 15, 1964.

Fr. O’Neill graduated from the University of Detroit High School. He obtained his doctorate in mathematics in 1967 from Wayne State University. Fr. O’Neill taught mathematics at the University of Detroit Mercy from 1963 until 2009. He moved to Colombiere Center in 2010.
