More than 200 Gonzaga University students, Jesuits, faculty, staff, alumni, family and friends participated in the University’s 42nd annual Pilgrimage to the historic Mission of the Sacred Heart in Cataldo, Idaho on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Participants boarded buses and traveled to North Idaho’s Enaville Resort where they ate breakfast before embarking on an 11-mile wilderness hike to the historic Mission of the Sacred Heart in Cataldo, Idaho’s oldest standing building and headquarters of the first Jesuit missionaries to the region.

The retreat brought together students of all ages as well as representatives of all parts of the Gonzaga University community to hike together and pray that God will bless the Gonzaga University community in the coming school year. The journey ended with a celebration of the Eucharist at the Mission of the Sacred Heart.
