Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest is starting a new program called Jesuit Volunteer EnCorps (JV EnCorps), which will provide opportunities for volunteers aged 50 and older to participate in volunteer service while committing to the four JVC Northwest values.
JVEs will serve in a local community organization at least four hours a week or a minimum of 200 hours total for their one-year commitment. EnCorps members will live in their own homes and participate in community through monthly gatherings for support, spiritual nourishment and faith sharing and for occasional retreats or days of reflection.
Volunteers will also be encouraged to pursue ongoing spiritual direction, prayer, spiritual journaling and reflection on their experiences. Relationships with JVs in the community will be fostered as well. [Oregon Province]
