Jesuit Appointed Archbishop of Luxembourg

Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Jesuit Father Jean-Claude Hollerich Archbishop of Luxembourg.

Currently, Fr. Jean-Claude is rector of the Jesuit Community at Sophia University in Tokyo.

He was born in 1958 in Differdange, Luxembourg, entered the Society of Jesus in 1981 and was ordained a priest in 1990.

Hollerich will officially become the head of the church in Luxembourg at a ceremony on October 16. [Jesuit Curia]
