Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix is launching Loyola Academy, a new junior high program for young men.
Loyola Academy, set to open in August 2011, will provide a Catholic, Jesuit education to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys who demonstrate academic promise but have had limited educational opportunities.
Loyola Academy will have an extended school day and school year in order to achieve the academic gains necessary to prepare the boys to be successful Brophy students.
Funds are currently being raised to cover tuition costs; the program will open with one class of sixth grade boys, adding one more grade for the next two years.
Loyola Academy will be a part of Brophy College Prep, and its students will have access to all Brophy’s facilities and sports fields. [JSEA Bulletin, Brophy College Prep]
