Olivier, David S.

Fr. David Severin Olivier, SJ,  died on April 7, 2010 in the Jesuit Infirmary on the Gonzaga University campus. He was 79 years old.

David Olivier was born on August 1, 1930 in Missoula Montana and entered the Oregon Province of the Jesuits in 1949. He was ordained a priest in 1962 at St. Aloysius Church in Spokane, and took final vows in 1967.

Fr. Olivier spent nearly 40 years working in high schools, first teaching English Literature at Jesuit High School in Portland, OR, Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma, WA and Loyola-Sacred Heart High School in Missoula, MT. Later in his career, Fr. Olivier taught religion and worked as a counselor and campus minister at Jesuit High School in Portland. He retired from Jesuit High in 2006 for health reasons and moved to the Jesuit Infirmary in Spokane, Washington, where he died peacefully on April 7, 2010.

He is survived by his Sister Mary Jo Alford who currently lives in Houston, Texas.
